Dr. phil. Kaspar Philipp Schattke

Originally from Berlin, Kaspar Schattke is a professor of work and organizational psychology. He began his academic career in psychology at the Universität Potsdam in Germany and the University of Sussex in Brighton, UK. He then completed a doctorate at the Technische Universität München (TUM) in Germany, focusing on the experience of flow among climbers. During his doctoral studies, Dr. Schattke also worked as a freelance trainer, giving leadership and motivation trainings to self-employed insurance salespeople. Following several research visits to McGill University and a postdoctoral fellowship at the John Molson School of Business (Concordia University) in Montreal, he is now an associate professor at the Université du Québec à Montréal. His current research interests include work motivation, the impact of organizational sustainability on employees, and (career) goal disengagement. Dr. Schattke is associate editor for the journal “Motivation and Emotion” (MOEM) as well as consulting editor for “Motivation Science” (MOT). In addition, he has recently become a certified yoga instructor (300h, Yoga Yūni Montréal).

Geneviève Taylor, Ph.D.
Geneviève Taylor is a tenured professor of career development and counseling in the Department of Education and Pedagogy of the Université du Québec à Montréal. She holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from McGill University and a master’s degree in human resources from the London School of Economics and Political Science. With experience as an executive search and selection consultant, a post-doctoral researcher in education, psycho-education and psychiatry, and as a psychotherapist, she is interested in authenticity in the pursuit of personal projects. Her research focuses on goal pursuit, motivation and well-being. More specifically, she is interested in how mindfulness and self-compassion influence: 1) career goal-setting, 2) the management of obstacles that arise during this pursuit 3) disengagement from an undesirable goal and re-engagement in the pursuit of a new one. She is also associate editor for the journal “Motivation and Emotion” (MOEM).
